As part of the 2nd cycle of Open Lessons of Plant Biology, Prof. Ricardo QUINTO-CANAS, Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Algarve (Portugal), Professor of Landscape Architecture, will hold the second lesson entitled: "Quercus suber L. woodlands of Portugal: Ecology, diversity, priorities for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services". The lesson, which will be held in English, will have as its main theme the importance of cork forests in Portugal. The speaker will discuss the ecological aspects, the diversity of these important forests and the priorities for the conservation of their biodiversity and related ecosystem services. Like the previous lesson, which was also followed by students from other universities, this is also addressed not only to students of the Mediterranea, but also to a wider audience and, in particular, to all those who are interested in landscape for passion or for work.
