The Italian agri-food industry beyond COVID-19 (SIEA)

Webinar may june 2020

The pandemic, which unfortunately we cannot yet archive as a bad memory, has confronted us with the fragility of current development models, highlighting the urgent need to make radical choices for the future of our Planet. The intent of the SIEA webinars is to go beyond a mere "Damage counts", trying to design the Italian Agro-food that will come: on the one hand, the multiple criticalities of our production system will be highlighted and, on the other, the specificities that make it unique in the world. We hope that this debate will bring out useful contributions to favor a rapid revival of the Italian agro-food system, with the development of a sectoral policy that enhances our production system, protecting it from those forms of globalization that push towards extreme levels of homologation and delocalization. The SIEA initiative is divided into 5 single theme seminars:

• "Circular economy and agro-food system after COVID-19", with Edo Ronchi (Sustainable Development Foundation), Paolo De Castro (European Parliament), Stefano Pascucci (University of Exeter, UK), Friday 29 May 2020, 2pm : 30

• “Soil as an element for food security and the sustainable future of the agro-food system. Perspectives after COVID-19 ", with Giuseppe L'Abbate (Undersecretary for Agricultural Policies), Vincenzo Michele Sellitto (MSBiotech spa), Raffaella Pergamo (CREA-PB) and Raffaella Zucaro (CREA-PB), Friday 5 June 2020, 3pm : 00
