“Il giorno dopo”: instant book to look at postpandemia (with a contribution from Salvatore Di Fazio)

An instant-book to look to the future, while we face the dramatic challenges of the present. This is the intention that animates "Il giorno dopo: visioni del post pandemia”, digital publication edited by Sicilian Post.

The book, downloadable from the magazine's website, hosts the contributions of various members of the world of culture and information, including: Jeff Jarvis, Ferruccio De Bortoli, Sabino Cassese, Luigi Ballerini, Giovanni Chiaramonte, Derrick De Kerckhove, Maria Pia Rossignaud , Roberto Saracco, Antonio Spadaro and Giovanni Zagni. Among the contributions from the university world there is also that of Salvatore Di Fazio, entitled "Rodari, Leopardi and the angels of the Virus". It is the intervention that closes the book, drawing attention to the space that in the Italian society of the post-pandemic - a society today "old" and without hope for the future - will have to be offered to young people. Today's dramatic crisis forces us to understand that their vital energies and creativity will be in extreme need to rebuild.

Leopardi had understood this in 1802, Rodari had emphasized it again after the flood of Florence in 1966: young people are always called to arms to face the emergency that institutions are unable to stem. Yet even today, they are ordinarily marginalized with respect to many important areas of social life, without their energy and their generous availability being structurally valued. The question of Leopardi and Rodari resounds: young people, "who will call them to the big public utilities?". Link for free download of the book:
