These procedures are subject to the current and future emergency provisions of the Italian Government and of the European Union regarding the prevention and containment of the epidemic of the COVID virus 19.

The Italian Ministry of University and Research has just announced that, with reference to the PROCEDURES FOR ENTRY, RESIDENCY AND ENROLMENT AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS FOR STUDENTS REQUIRING VISAS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES IN ITALY, FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020-2021, and in the face of the persistence of the emergency situation linked to the spread of COVID19, the deadline initially indicated as 30 November 2020 for the issue of study visas by the diplomatic / consular Missions is extended to 31st January 2021.

Brief Instructions for submitting the pre-enrollment application on Universitaly - (only for nonEU student requiring Visa):

Register here (you can change the language by clicking on the flags at the top right);
Fill in the fields required to create your profile (remember to enter your details exactly as they are described in the passport);
You will receive an email to confirm your account and complete the registration by setting the password;
Click on Pre-enrollment application> New pre-enrollment application to start. Remember that you can only send one for the 2020/2021 academic year, choosing one university and one course of study;

choose the academic year (2020/2021)
check your personal data

check your passport data
insert your passport photo and scan your passport
indicate at which Embassy / Consulate you will apply for the visa and the reason (for example:“Voglio immatricolarmi ad un corso di studio” - "I want to enroll in a course of study", or other)
select "Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria"
choose and enter the course you intend to attend
It is NOT necessary to enter "Account identification at the University / AFAM / Institute"

Upload your qualifications and supporting documents (for example: language certificates, translations of the qualification, transcript of records, declaration of value / certificate of comparability, etc.)

Check your details and send the pre-enrollment application.

At this point your application will have been sent to our university.

Important: pre-enrolment at the Italian Embassy alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. In order to matriculate you also need to complete the admission procedures required by the University for the programme you have chosen.

The chapter "1. Rules for foreign students" is published in Italian language on the italian web site and it is translated in English language on this English web site. In case of divergence between the texts written in Italian and in English in any case shall prevail those in Italian language.

1.1 Non-EU students who are not resident in Italy are admitted to the first year or the following years, within the limits of the number of places established annually by the Departments for each degree course and master's degree program.

1.2 The places foreseen for non-EU citizens are reserved for non-EU students residing abroad, with a residence permit for study purposes, and made known at on the site of Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria at The other non-EU citizens, in possession of a residence permit other than the one indicated above, are treated as equivalent to European Community students, so they are required to follow the procedures established for the generality of these students (Article 26 - Law 189/2002).

1.3 For the purposes of the payment of the Annual All-Inclusive Contribution (COA), foreign students, not resident in Italy, enrolled in undergraduate and master's degree courses are placed in the first band of the ISEE income classes in table "A" and can be recipients of University scholarships subject to a specific Notice.

1.4 For the purposes of certification of the economic and patrimonial status to students of EU citizens and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy pursuant to the Law of 30 July 2002, n. 189 and similar law, the conditions foreseen for Italian students are applied.
